BARAKA AMONG THE TOP 20
“A year ago, André Bicalho was mentioned as a new chef in the Dining Guide, but he became familiar with Baraka’s world really quick. The Portuguese-Brazilian chef delivers Baraka’s unique fusion perfectly. Bicalho combines the French cuisine with Asian flavors while he uses his favorites: fresh fish from the sea, seafood, and exotic ingredients. The restaurant always had well composed plates, but André brought this to another level. For example, the winter season is inspired by storytelling, with dishes named after tales and legends, such as “The White Snake – The power of love” or “The story of the golden Buddha”. These lyrical elements are covering carefully selected ingredients, like white coconut and yogurt or the golden Hungarian Dobogó Aszú. Baraka has an outstanding wine card as well. The restaurant is located near Vörösmarty square, therefore the majority of their guests are from abroad, however, they should be on the map of Hungarian foodies.”
